On September 28, the documentary film “Harmony”, highlighting Azerbaijan’s religious diversity, multicultural values and interfaith harmony, was presented in Rome. The event brought together representatives of Azerbaijan, the Holy See, the diplomatic corps, religious communities and clergy. Through the stories of three women from Islamic, Christian and Jewish traditions, the film presents mutual respect and a culture of peaceful coexistence in Azerbaijan.
On September 24, a commemorative event marking the 6th anniversary of September 27 – Remembrance Day was held at the Caucasus Muslims’ Board. The Sumgait Jewish Religious Community was represented by its Chairman, Yevgeniy Brenneysen Anatolyevich. The event paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs and highlighted unity and solidarity among Azerbaijan’s different religious communities.
On February 26, 2026, a memorial event was held in Sumgait to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide. Representatives of various religious denominations, including Rabbi Leichter Mendel of the Sumgait Jewish Religious Community, attended the event and paid tribute to the memory of the victims.
