The Sumgait Jewish Religious Community is one of the Jewish religious communities operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Its primary mission is to preserve and develop Jewish religious life, traditions, and spiritual heritage in the city of Sumgait.
The community's activities are guided by Jewish religious traditions, the values of the Torah, and principles of mutual respect, solidarity, and care for others. An important part of its work includes meeting the religious needs of community members, holding prayers and religious ceremonies, and observing Jewish holidays and significant dates.
The community's work extends beyond religious ceremonies. Educational gatherings, religious and cultural events, programs for children and young people, women's participation in community life, and various social initiatives form important parts of its activities.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Leichter, the Rabbi of the Sumgait Jewish Religious Community, plays an important role in organizing religious life, conducting religious ceremonies, supporting Torah learning, and preserving and transmitting Jewish heritage to future generations.
The community is part of Azerbaijan's rich multicultural and multi-faith society and places great importance on cooperation with religious and public organizations, mutual respect, and interfaith dialogue.
